A Financial Stepping Stone That Changed Everything

Sometimes the desire to choose life is there, but the financial reality makes a mother feel as though she has no choice.

When a young mom reached out for help in May 2024, she was single and raising two little ones, just two years old and nine months old. She had recently lost her job and was already struggling financially.

Then, on her way to an appointment nearly 30 miles from home, her car broke down on the highway. Her father picked her up, and despite arriving an hour late with both children in tow, She made it to her appointment.

An ultrasound revealed a healthy seven-week pregnancy.

Overwhelmed was an understatement and she had already scheduled an abortion for June 7th. With no job, two small children to support, a car she couldn't afford to repair, and friends ridiculing her for having another baby, financial fear was a primary factor in her decision.

When Financial Help Creates Another Way Forward

After having the opportunity to talk openly about her fears and circumstances, she learned that help was available.

She was given the opportunity to apply for financial assistance through Save Unborn Life, and the pregnancy resource center provided funds for her immediate car repair.

Suddenly, the burdens that had made continuing her pregnancy seem impossible were being lifted.

Financial assistance alone could not solve every challenge that this mom faced, but it gave her the breathing room to see that abortion was not her only option.

And the support continued. Throughout her pregnancy, she had more than 60 contacts with 12 staff members, receiving medical services, counseling, classes, material assistance, financial help, prayer, and encouragement.
